How to distinguish refractory mud, refractory cement, refrac

Refractory Mud:

Composition: Refractory mud is usually composed of refractory materials such as silicate or high alumina, binders and other additives.

Features: Refractory mud has good plasticity, easy to construct, suitable for masonry, repair and connection of small parts on the surface of high-temperature equipment. It is able to withstand higher temperatures, but has a relatively low temperature range.

Application: Refractory mud is often used for repairing, repairing, plugging leaks of high-temperature equipment, and masonry furnace walls, furnace roofs and other parts.

Refractory cement:

Composition: Refractory cement is mainly composed of refractory stone, high-aluminite and other main materials and a certain proportion of binders.

Features: Refractory cement has high high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. It is a structural refractory material, which is suitable for direct masonry of the overall structure of high-temperature equipment, and has good compressive strength and stability.

Application: Refractory cement is often used to build the overall structure of high-temperature equipment such as masonry furnace body, kiln, furnace chamber, etc., such as masonry furnace wall, furnace bottom, etc.

Refractory castable:

Composition: Refractory castable is composed of refractory aggregate, binder and water adder, etc., among which the refractory aggregate can be high-alumina aggregate or silicon carbide, etc.

Features: The refractory castable is in liquid or semi-fluid state, which can be poured into the interior of high-temperature equipment by pouring and spraying. It has good high temperature resistance and thermal shock resistance, and is suitable for high-temperature equipment with complex shapes and internal structures.

Application: Refractory castables are often used for repairing, sealing and masonry inside high-temperature equipment, such as masonry furnace top, furnace bottom and back of furnace wall.

In summary, refractory cement is suitable for repairing and joining small parts, refractory cement is suitable for integral masonry structures, and refractory castables are suitable for pouring complex shapes and internal structures. According to the specific use needs and equipment conditions, select the appropriate refractory materials for application. Please note that the above information is for reference only, and it is recommended to consult with professional refractory manufacturers or technicians for further consultation when actually choosing.

Refractory mud, refractory cement, and refractory castable are all amorphous refractories, and they are commonly used in the refractory industry. Refractory mud is used for masonry refractory bricks, refractory mud, also known as refractory cement or joint material. It is used as a masonry material for the masonry of refractory products. Refractory cement is a material for making refractory concrete, and refractory castable is made of refractory aggregate, powder and binder, which is also called pouring material because of the use of pouring construction.

1. Refractory mud Refractory mud can be divided into clay, high alumina, siliceous and magnesia refractory mud according to the material. It is composed of refractory powder, binder and admixture. The general refractory clay made by adding refractory clinker powder and an appropriate amount of plastic clay as a binding agent and plasticizer is called general refractory mud, which has low strength at room temperature and high strength when forming a ceramic bond. The particle size of refractory mud varies according to the application requirements, and its limit particle size is generally less than 1mm, and some are less than 0.5mm or finer. The selection of refractory mud materials should be considered together with the materials of refractory products of masonry. In addition to being used as a joint material, refractory mud can also be used as a maintenance coating for the lining by alteration or eruption.
2. Refractory cement Refractory cement is also called aluminate cement. Aluminate cement is a hydraulic cementitious material made of bauxite and limestone as raw materials, calcined with calcium aluminate as the main ingredient and alumina content of about 50%, and then grinded. Aluminate cement is often yellow or brown in color, but also gray. It is used as lining for industrial kilns.

3. Refractory castable

Refractory castable is a kind of amorphous refractory material that is now widely produced and used. It is mainly used to construct various furnace linings and other overall structures. Certain high-quality varieties can also be used in smelting furnaces. For example, aluminate cement refractory castable can be widely used in various heating furnaces and other thermal equipment without slag and acid and alkali corrosion. In the parts that are corroded by molten iron, molten steel and slag and the working temperature is high, such as tapping troughs, steel barrels and blast furnace furnace bodies, taphole trenches, etc., in some parts of metallurgical furnaces and other containers that are in direct contact with slag and molten metal, the use of high-quality phosphate refractory castables for repair also has excellent results.

Through the above, we can see that although the three products are amorphous refractories, the use is very different, and each product is divided into different models and types, so you can consult professional and technical personnel when purchasing, and choose the right product, so as not to delay the construction period and cause unnecessary losses.
